LUXE and Earagail Arts Festival are offering chance to be part of a magical night-time outdoor spectacle.

For the second instalment of Citadels of The Sun, this year’s flagship festival collaboration, landscape theatre company LUXE celebrate connecting Donegal and Rajasthan – a world apart, yet bound by symbolic significance – with an illuminated musical adventure in Letterkenny’s town centre.

The project, entitled Eclipse – Citadels of The Sun/Dúnfoirt na Gréine Pt 2, is a new creative collaboration between Earagail Arts Festival and Jodhpur RIFF sharing common themes and stories that unite Irish and Indian culture through music, dance and spectacle.

The event takes place on Saturday night, 13th July, at 10.30pm and the company is now inviting members of the public to be part of this fun experience.

LUXE is looking for 16 ‘pushers’ to manoeuvre the floats, all downhill, wearing simple dark costume (nothing embarrassing!). They are also looking for  seven star carriers (lit stars on long poles) who will be wearing costumes.

If you are 18 years of age or over and this sounds like something you would be keen on getting involved in, please contact Donna McDade, Volunteers & Outreach Co-ordinator, by e-mailing or call Tel. + 353 (0) 74 916 8800.

Citadels of the Sun and the Eclipse Outdoor Spectacle are part of this year’s Donegal International Folk & Roots Weekend, which opens the annual Earagail Arts Festival next week.

Earagail Arts Festival is funded by Arts Council Ireland, Donegal County Council, Wild Atlantic Way and Fáilte Ireland
