New International Commissions for Earagail Arts Festival 2016

We are very proud to announce that the Earagail Arts Festival has been granted a PRS for Music Foundation Beyond Borders Award. The award will fund an ambitious new music commission bringing together Orcadian front man of cult British band Erland & The Carnival; Irish singer-songwriter Hannah Peel; orchestral arranger and composer Michael Keeney and the multi-talented Tommy Mc Laughlin to produce a new body of music for performance at Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival in May 2016, Earagail Arts Festival in July 2016 and Celtic Connections, January 2017. Earagail Arts Festival Management Company Limited gratefully acknowledges the support of Beyond Borders.

Initial research has also commenced on the centre-piece production for 2016. Following the festival’s acclaimed Fiesta (2014/2015) and She Knit The Roof projects, a new multi-disciplinary production on the subject of Unifi and Donegal’s industrial heritage will take place in July 2016.

We’ll also have news in the forthcoming weeks of a new residency programme for Donegal artists at the Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris.
